Every time we dig into a perfectly al dente bowl of pasta or sip on a smooth cup of espresso, we silently send our most heartfelt thanks to Italy and its delectable food culture. But Italians have done so much more than keep our stomachs full and happy. Just try to think of all the art, architecture, fashion and innovation the country has shared with the entire world and you’ll only begin to scratch the surface.
Now, you have the chance to immerse yourself in authentic Italian culture right from the comfort of your own home at the fourth edition of [email protected] Organized by the Italian Embassy in Canada, the Consulate General of Italy in Toronto, the Italian Trade Agency, the Italian Cultural Institute in Toronto, ENIT – Italian National Tourist Board, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario Canada, the virtual event brings together some of Italy’s leading change makers and thinkers to give people a behind-the-scenes peek into what goes into their work and what makes Italy…well, Italy.
This summer’s panel—focused on the fascinating theme of “Italy, Land of Investments”—will include renowned architect Stefano Boeri (the brains behind show-stopping work like Milan’s Vertical Forest); Thales Alenia Space exploration and science expert Cesare Lobascio; Albiera Antinori, president of centuries-old family-run wine company Marchesi Antinori; and Dr. Sabina Berretta, an associate professor at the Harvard Medical School and the scientific director of Harvard’s Brain Tissue Resource Center. Rounding out the conversation is moderator Eleonora Andretta, a successful life coach, author and workplace culture specialist.
Over the course of the one-hour panel, you’ll hear each of the high-profile experts touch upon Italian innovation, the strong relationship between Canada and Italy (including the potential trade and investment opportunities) and what makes Italy so uniquely special, including its distinctive cultural landscape. If you’ve ever loved or appreciated anything Italian, it’s a can’t-miss event.
The event takes place on June 20 at noon and will be streamed via Zoom. Registration is free and easy: all you have to do is sign up here. While you’ll be tuning in from Canada, a far cry away from the Mediterranean, we recommend you enhance the experience by picking up a cannoli or two. When in Rome, right?
